This is the technology I’m traveling with this trip:
- 13″ MacBook weighing under 1kg
- USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (as the MacBook has just a single USB-C port).
- iPhone SE with 32GB memory that replaced the 4+ year old iPhone 5s that died in Sydney International Airport and has since come back to life.
- Swiss Mobility Power Pack 10000mAh (thanks Flybuys)
- GoPro Hero 3 silver and a suction holder
- A very handy all-in-one travel adapter purchased off Trade Me after a lot of research
- Nikon CoolPix P900 superzoom camera. I can very easily migrate photos onto my phone using wifi then I backup into Google Drive while still keeping the originals on my 32GB SD cards.

I would bring almost all of the exact same tech next time. I’ll decide on the GoPro once I’ve found out if I can get it to work. I didn’t pack the correct charging cable and only managed to purchase one yesterday so I’m charging it now. I’ve had very little use from it so if it doesn’t work out it may be user-related as much as product suitability.
The piece of tech I haven’t used yet is my 1TB Toshiba portable hard drive and that’s mainly because saving to Google Drive has been so easy and lack of time. It doesn’t take up much space and weighs little so I’m not bothered that I have brought it and not used it.
